Like most buildings in London, Walkers of Whitehall didn't start its life as a licenced premises. Built in 1694, it was originally an Irish bank with cashiers upstairs and the offices and vaults below.

Its taken on several transformations since then and when the Morton-Scott Bar and Restaurant Company acquired the business in 2004, it underwent yet another change.
